What Makes Wood’s Powr-Grip the Leader in Suction Cups?

WPG’s hand-held vacuum cups (also known as suction cup lifters or Wood’s Cups) are a must-have for safe, efficient handling of glass and other materials on construction sites, in production facilities, or in other work settings. Wood’s Powr-Grip is the trusted leader in vacuum cups and vacuum lifting equipment — here’s why:
- Versatility: WPG cups adapt to multiple applications, from installing glass to moving sheet metal. They can also handle ceramics, plastics, and other materials.
- Efficiency: WPG cups’ ease of use minimizes physical strain on workers, which helps streamline workflows and boost productivity.
- Safety: WPG cups are designed to reduce risks of accidental load release/damage and personal injury.
How to Use a Wood’s Powr-Grip Vacuum Cup
- Place the cup’s vacuum pad against the material surface. Then pump the plunger to generate vacuum until the pad begins to seal against the material.
- Continue pumping until the red-line indicator on the plunger is hidden from view. This confirms the pad is fully secured on the material and vacuum is sufficient for lifting.
- Monitor the red-line indicator through the lift. A reappearing red line indicates significant vacuum loss. Pump the plunger to regenerate vacuum until the red line is hidden again. Repeat as necessary.
- When the lift is completed, release the cup by pulling up on a vacuum pad’s tab or pressing the cup’s release lever, depending on the cup model.

Why Choose Wood’s Powr-Grip?

- Wide Selection: Options for different lifting applications, load types.

Improved performance of 8″ pad
When a hand cup is first applied firmly to a load surface, the pad establishes an initial grip onto the load, keeping the cup in place until the user finishes the vacuum attachment by pumping the plunger. While some users were able to do this with earlier versions of a standard 8-inch hand cup, that function had never been designed into it. Now, an initial grip is achieved more consistently.
Another benefit is the pad’s ability to attach to materials with surfaces that are less than 100% smooth or 100% flat. This saves time for users who may need to lift such materials in addition to their fully smooth or fully flat loads.
